Summer Fun

Tags

I’ve had a pretty crazy, busy summer so I apologize (once again) for the delay in posting! My life is always crazy busy, but sometimes it’s overwhelming and lately has been one of those times. Even still, my favourite time of year is definitely summer! Living in BC we are so blessed to have an innumerable amount of fun and exciting things to do outside, especially once the weather cooperates. My hubby and I are huge outdoor enthusiasts, especially when it comes to the water – in fact, we met as Lifeguards. We love swimming, snorkeling and surfing, and yes you can surf in BC!

This summer we’ve taken several local trips as opposed to a big overseas one. We always go to Salt Spring Island, one of the southern gulf islands, and we also went to Tofino for the first time. Not one to slack off even during my holidays, as I’m sure you’ve noticed noticed by now, we spend a fair bit of our time in the outdoors either hiking or, in the case of Tofino, in the ocean catching waves. Sometimes my definition of ‘relaxation’ isn’t the same as others, lol! To me, swimming while the sun sets around me is unbelievably relaxing. Check out some of our pics below. As you can see I’m often sporting my Public Myth gear. My teaser sports bra is my favourite for hiking!

Trade Show & Seattle

Ack – I’ve totally been ignoring my blog lately, but it’s not because I’ve been slacking off. Quite the opposite actually! I was busy planning a Trade Show for the company I work for and it consumed pretty much all of my time, but now it’s over – phew! The show was in Seattle, and it happened to be on the weekend of my hubby and I’s first year anniversary so we decided to make it a mini-vacay. A vacay it was NOT, but we did have a lot of fun shopping and eating, and shopping, lol!

Us at The Crab Pot in Seattle for our 1 year anniversary dinner.

Life should return to normal any day now (whatever normal is anyhow) and you can expect more regular posts again. My workouts have also suffered from my  crazy busy life lately so I forced myself to workout this morning – why and how do some people get up at 5:30 am?!? I am not a morning person, and I have decided not to force this issue, so I will continue to make time after work for either pole fitness practise or Insanity. Wish me luck!

I’m the newest Brand Enthusiast for local company Public Myth!

I have some very exciting news to report – This past Saturday I met with the owner and founder of Public Myth, a local Vancouver company. We had a great visit and they have offered me a position as one of their Brand Enthusiasts. I’m quite honoured to have been chosen and of course, I said yes! I love their brand, their style and all of their clothes. If you aren’t familiar with them, check out their website www.publicmyth.com. They aren’t your typical workout clothing company, their clothes have an edge to them, which I love because strong is the new sexy!

After trying on lots of stuff, I left there with one of their newest sports bras, called the ‘teaser.’ I picked it because of its unique style and badass black mesh straps. I’ll be sporting it this Thursday at my Tech Pole class at Mysfit Fitness in Surrey so stay tuned for pics. I hope to show it off while nailing a new move. I’m making a lot of progress in pole fitness lately, courtesy of Noreen, the owner of Mysfit Fitness and one of the most talented instructors I’ve had the pleasure of working with.

Hangin’ out at the May Day Parade in PoCo.

On a side-note, I was in a May Day parade two weekends ago in Coquitlam with Room to Move Dance and Fitness, where I teach Boot Camp and Pole Yoga classes. My first time ever pole dancing on a moving float. I’ve checked that off the bucket list, lol!

I’m Getting Published Again!

Some of you will recall my excitement when The Pole Dancing Shop Blog published my article and now I have even bigger news to report. BCRPA (British Columbia Recreation and Parks Association) is going to publish an article of mine in the Spring issue of the BC Fit Life Magazine! I will be receiving a hard copy of the magazine, but I’ll be sure to post a link to the online version once it’s live.

Writing has always been my passion and it’s so exciting and rewarding to see my work out there, being enjoyed by others! Hmm, what should I write about next… Now that I’ve got the ball rolling, I have to keep it going! I feel so blessed that I get to combine my two great loves: writing and promoting living a healthy, happy lifestyle!
